The Ministry of Tourism and the Haifa Municipality, in cooperation with the Haifa Port, have launched an international laser lighting design competition to light up the skies of the port city of Haifa.
The 20 million NIS project will consist of two light shows due to start operating this coming September and is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors.
Haifa, with its nightlife, beautiful beaches and the famous Bahá'í Gardens, is a tourist hub waiting to bloom. Israel believes that this project will uncover that potential and generate a regional tourist boom.
Minister of Tourism Yariv Levin: "With the breaking of highs in incoming tourism to Israel, I consider the city of Haifa and the development of tourism there to be of paramount importance.
