President Rivlin received President Lungu and welcomed him warmly to Israel. “Mr. President, it is a great pleasure to welcome you to Israel, the Holy Land, where you can walk in the footsteps of the prophets,” he said, and added, “There is only a small Jewish community in Zambia, but there is a Jewish Museum – a sign that while we build the future, we must remember the past and thank Zambians for the open arms with which they received Jewish refugees from Europe.”

President Reuven and First Lady Nechama Rivlin this morning (Monday) hosted an official welcoming ceremony for President of Guatemala H.E. Jimmy Morales and First Lady Patricia Marroquin de Morales, marking their official visit to the State of Israel. Jerusalem, Thursday, November 24th, 2016 - Hundreds of United Hatzalah volunteer EMS personnel assisted firefighters in evacuating residents in the Romema and Sapir neighborhoods of Haifa during a series of fires that blazed in those areas on Thursday morning. Residents who were still in their neighborhoods were evacuated by the firefighters, police and United Hatzalah volunteers.
